Today is all about giving people cozy and loving hugs. Yes, it’s International Hugging Day, the one day in the year when everyone forgets shyness to embrace one another. The date is marked every year on January 21st and is all about encouraging that warm embrace. Feeling stressed? Hug it out with the person you love. One study found that when couples embraced, they had increased levels of oxytocin – the hormone responsible for lower stress levels, anger, loneliness, and mood boosts. Please give someone you love an extra-long squeeze.
